About The Balloon

Hoppin' Around is 90,000 cubic feet hot air balloon, and stands about 70 feet tall.  Built in 2012 by Lindstrand Balloons in Galena, Illinois, it is constructed mostly of nylon material and is capable of lifting nearly 2000 pounds, which includes the weight of its self.  The balloon system weighs about 700 pounds, leaving up to 1200 pounds of passenger space depending on the outside temperature.  The balloon is heated by burners, fueled by 40 gallons of on board propane, that produces over 18 million BTU.  When the balloon is packed away it easily loads onto a pickup truck and can be stored in a garage at home.
